GDANSK MAIN RAILWAY STATION

Construction and detailed design redevelopment project in the team of the Design Department, Investment Office, PKP S.A.
The project seeks to combine utilitarian issues e.g. service points, waiting room, ticket offices with passenger comfort and the historical.
The starting point for the project were historical photographs that show the station just after its opening. The reconstruction project refers to the original condition of the building, e.g. by restoring the original architectural form of the façade and roof, renovating the steel joinery of the windows located in the lobby with glass filling in the form of stained glass, restoring the historical layout of some of the rooms or the colour scheme of the passenger hall.
In addition to the reconstruction and renovation of the main body of the station, the project also envisages the reconstruction and expansion of the transport part connecting the station with the existing city tunnels and platforms.
The investor is at the stage of selecting a contractor for the reconstruction.

ORION HOUSES

The project acts as a link between the existing single-family neighbourhoods and the transport hub. The NEOstudio project creates a second contemporary neighbourhood in this location and features 29 unique homes. This three-storey, two-bedroom home features an open-plan living/kitchen/dining area for comfortable living on the main level. The house also has a loft on the 3rd floor with a bathroom. The second floor consists of a master suite and an additional bedroom with bathroom. A finished basement (as an option) provides additional square metres, including a third bedroom, bathroom and a sizable family room. The house has a two-car garage.

ALPERT RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL COMPLEX

    We designed two buildings that fit into the modern urban space. Commercial facades surround the entire building, creating a ‘front door’ overlooking the main boulevard. The four residential floors above, are set back from the ground floor to create a terrace arrangement, while allowing as much sun exposure as possible on the commercial facades. The residential facades are interconnected, creating a playful rhythm, but which also provides the privacy of the residential balconies. The building consists of one-, two- and three-bedroom flats. The building features extensive communal spaces for residents, including a rooftop terrace on the second floor with outdoor pools, hot tubs, an outdoor barbecue area and a recreational multipurpose space. One in five flats has a private rooftop terrace and garden.

Wilmot Mountain is a full-service ski resort, a destination for many skiers for more than 60 years.
The new concept retains a unique atmosphere and creates a modern, industrial nod to the area’s building traditions. The resort provides relaxation, fun and sport. The dynamic character of the venue is emphasised through the design treatments used – geometric floor patterns in a vibrant colour palette, unexpected lighting solutions and innovative use of traditional materials such as steel, wood and perforated aluminium.

Located in the Acova neighbourhood of northwest Denver, the building is designed to retain the industrial character of the neighbourhood, yet be welcoming to the neighbourhood’s residential development. Exposed brick walls and wood plank beams recapture the authentic Acova atmosphere, while original artwork creates brand recognition. The bar features 4 large garage doors that connect the new patio and indoor dining spaces. Exposed structural elements contrast with the colours, creating a playful atmosphere and an interesting accent.

ACOVA RESTAURANT

Located in the LoHi neighbourhood of northwest Denver, the development, Acova – the ‘nest’ – is designed to be a distinctive, family-friendly gathering place. Acova has a quirky, industrial feel that pays homage to its original surroundings. Exposed brick walls and wooden beams, reveal Acova’s authentic atmosphere, while original artwork creates brand recognition. One wall features 4 large garage doors that connect the new patio and indoor dining spaces. Exposed structural elements contrast with the colours, creating a playful atmosphere and a new element on the Denver restaurant map.

ELWAY’S RESTAURANT

    The design of the redevelopment is based on materials found in historic western taverns, but supplemented with 21st century solutions and amenities and mountain traditions. The dining space is divided into three distinct spaces surrounding the central open kitchen: a lobby with bar, a dining area and a dining room, with each space having an Elway character. The open shelving system was designed to be both functional and decorative. The shelving system confines the kitchen, providing storage space for kitchen utensils while creating a flexible visual and sound barrier from the kitchen.

MCEL AND NORTHROP GRUMMAN OFFICE CENTRE

Developed using a concept based on aerospace aesthetics, the design team created a modern, futuristic environment that was intended to reflect both the client’s vision and the history of their company. The concept focuses on creating three distinct programme spaces, but keeping them seamlessly connected, flowing and collaborative. The laboratory includes multiple presentation rooms, hospitality stations for visiting engineers, conference rooms and a lounge for informal meetings and socialising. The lab and breakout spaces have been designed using the latest audio/visual, security and internet technologies.

The Cyber Centre Lab space is a room in which to showcase the latest technology in a real-time environment. The Cyber Lab suite includes state-of-the-art audiovisual technology and ergonomic workspaces, visitor suites, a data centre, separate social spaces and a large conference room for presentations.
